Spores are amazing. They are genetically enginered to withstand stasis for milenium in outer space and to survive re-entery into atmospheres. LSD and psilosybin both come from spores. Often wondered if an alien culture used them to spread elevated conciousness.
Nature is amazing. It's really cool that a fungus can control an insects brain, something you'd expect would require consciousness, which is a very interesting idea, for fungi to have consciousness that is, although, if it is purely a trial and error evolutionary thing, it is still amazing. And it is also amazing that the ants know to take the infected ones away from the colony. Again, seems like they have knowledge and more thinking than you would expect from such primitive seeming and small creatures, but again it could also be a matter of trial and error evolution, which is something I find remarkable. I find both possibilities fantastic.
