CH-46E Helo Raid - Marine Expeditionary Unit Certification Exercise

3/16/2012 Marines and Sailors with Company C, Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, insert via CH-46E Sea Knight helicopters from Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265 (Reinforced), to eliminate mock insurgents during a helicopter raid as part of their Certification Exercise. The assault force used fast rope insertion to reach the objective and take three buildings held by aggressors with simulated ammunition.

  • Looks like it's on Guam, or Oki.
    We didn't used to do fastropes. It was rappelling out the side door or off the ramp. I never went out a hellhole.
    SPIE rig flights were the best. The first time I did that was on Diego Garcia. Just spectacular.
