  • Why won't those people take up arms?

    • @XAMOMH^I Because NATO don't want to give them arms.

They could ransack a military camp with small arms and get heavier equipment from there; that's what the insurgents did in Libya. At least, if they're going to wait out for foreign aid, they should stop being sitting ducks by continuing nonsensical peaceful protests.

    • @XAMOMH^I You really believe that? The Libyan rebels already got outside secret help (arms, training) BEFORE the February 17 uprising! Why do you think so far the Syrians haven't succeeded yet? It's very simple, cause they didn't get support from NATO from the start.
Just wondering, you support the Libyan rebels? Because from what I know, the standard of living under Gaddafi was a lot better than Greece is now under τov προδότη 'Ἐφιάλτη Γ.Παπανδρέου'!!!

Meh, I can't really say I support them since their end goal is merely to establish themselves in the government, but hey, at least they weren't stupid enough to expect non-violence to get them anywhere. My interest in how these arab revolts are playing out is of anthropological nature. In the context of my cultural reality, I am very perplexed by those peoples' apathetic stance towards their own constant butchering.

    • @XAMOMH^I Sure there were some Libyan youth among the initial protesters who wanted to change some things in their country but the majority of the Libyan rebels now are just radical bandits who are paid and trained by NATO, some of them have even fought in jihadi groups in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Gaddafi wanted to establish an African Central Bank and African Monetary Fund to make unify the region and make it almost completely independent from the IMF and Worldbank. Thats why the west is bombing L More..
