Wrongly accused neighbour attacked with 12 inch knife

Vincent Southecoat, 38, was spared jail after his attack on Paul Henley, 50, and another neighbour, despite a judge calling it "outrageous and dangerous".

Southecoat knocked on Mr Henley's door on Hull's Bransholme estate and in a drunken rage put the 12in blade to his throat and left him with stab wounds on his elbow and hands.

Mr Henley's terrified partner helped him close the door and call the police, passing him a hammer to protect himself – but Southecoat stabbed the door with the knife before shouting: "I'm going to come back and kill you."
