That must be really scary. It looked like he was all alone out there. I was wondering to myself if those little puffs of smoke by his feet were enemy fire or falling rocks, when he started yelling I knew he was being hit.

Many times, in these 3 min. clips, it is difficult to understand exactly what the situation was. It doesn't really make sense that in order for him to draw attention away from the team, he needed to proceed directly into the line of fire...but he does say he was able to get to some relative safety by maneuvering down the mountain...so, I assume this was an individual or two that got him in some harassing fire.
