If this shocks you then you certainly buy your meat from the grocery store. Yesterday I had to finish a deer off from 10 feet using a shotgun. It was a little more messy to say the least. Nerves will twitch for some time, even with their head cut off. If you want to see gruesome, slow death, go to any local cancer hospital. I wish I could die as quickly as these FOOD animals.

@Bobbydog Bow season doesn't start here until the exact time the weather starts to turn to crap. I don't care to sit in a tree for hours getting soaked, I'd rather freeze my ass of during rifle season, though last winter was very mild. Wore a rain coat on opening day.

This video only shows the stunning part of slaughter, which induces the kicking as part of the Clonic seizure phase. In other words, the animals were already unconscious in the 'tonic' phase before the twitching started.

I used to work in one, and I can tell you there were vets on site that watched everything. They had the power to shut the plant down if they saw something being done wrong. They were paid by the Government not the plant owners. This is how its done, stun then cut throat. If you want to be OUTRAGED then look into HALAL meat and how that is done, its the muslim way and as usual its brutal.

Back in my teens I worked at a local turkey farm in the kill/bleed room for one season. The conscious birds were hung by their feet then electrocuted/bled with an electrified knife to the neck. Death was quick, quick enough to be considered most humane.
