No seatbelts or padded dashboard in the Tin Lizzies. After a crash they'd hose it out and resell it.

Ha. Did you see the video of the Chevy Impalas? One was from like 2007 and the other was like a 1965. The newer car smashed the older car to hell. Interesting to SEE the facts.

While you saw hot rods, I saw horses. It's the only thing that could explain their driving habits.

Ahhhhh......those were the days
You worked your ass off to get what you wanted
NO welfare
You respected your neighbors and took pride in yourself
Helped others and stopped criminals
Ahhhhh.....those were the days

@critterchops How do you figure? Where exactly did you pick up this idea that 1930s America was some sort of utopia? There was a lot more public drunkenness, huge amounts of violence and discrimination against women and minorities, and it was in the middle of the great depression, so everyone was poor and starving. Not sure why you think it was a great time to be alive in America.

Does anyone else watch old videos and think to themselves: "Everyone in this video died long ago"
It's cool and creepy at the same time. like the lady on the bench around the 1 minute mark... she is long gone

Why did I enjoy this so much?...Its like I didn't want it to end...felt so peaceful and knowing everyone on that video has passed away really makes you think about life and how even after your life ends things will continue to change. Some for the worse and some for the better. Thank you for posting such a amazing video.

I absolutely love looking at clear footage from a very long time ago!! The world was very different back then. Over 60 million people who would die in WWII only a few years away were alive & well on the day that this was filmed. So was my grandma & grandpa. They were alive & doing things at the very moment that this was being filmed & Bonnie & Clyde were on the run or maybe just recently killed. Awesome footage

Pretty cool. If people are still here in another 80 years, they will look back at our old dash cam videos and think WTF.

Yeah, especially the Russian dashcam footage...Actually, Russian drivers might be the reason people might not be here in 80 years.

So sad this era of American culture and society is gone forever. Califonia only had a population of 5.7 million people in 1930. Even as late as 1970 it was under 19 million and over 80% white. It was known for clean air, blue skies and wide open spaces. Now it is an over-crowded, polluted, Mexifornia.

Films like this one were produced to use as backgrounds in Hollywood movies and later on in television shows. The actors in the movie would be sitting in a prop vehicle in the studio pretending to drive while a film such as this one would be played on a screen behind them giving the impression that they were actually driving down a real street.
