Tech group prints high capacity AR magazine with 3-d printer
legislators and the left led by Obama want to ban guns, including semi-automatic assault rifles and high capacity AR magazines, this group from Texas called Defense distributed just printed a brand new 30 round high capacity AR magazine using a 3-d printer and an open source CAD file. So is Obama going to ban 3-d printers?, is he going to ban the internet where you can easily download this file and print it with the click of a button?. You can't stop the digital age, welcome to the future.

Same bullshit with the "ammo tax" they are proposing. I have Dillon 5 stage re-loader and can easily reload 1000 rounds in couple hours in my own basement. My buddy actually casts his own lead slugs with various caliber molds. It's been a while since I bought factory ammo.
Then they ban primers, powder, brass. I mean these liberal fucktards are just intolerable.

All you need is a ridiculously expensive 3D printer and you too can print a shitty mag for your gun that will break faster than even the cheapest polymer lipped mags on the market.

1-3 grand now, maybe less, in a few years it could be same price or cheaper than a laptop

@lucidx1 Beg to differ my fully assembled printer cost me $720. Uses two extruder nozzles for multicolored printing, and two spools of 0.20 mm ABS plastic line.
Not the fastest machine on the market, but I bet I can print that AR file in 8-10 hours per mag.

How much does the plastic cost? I'm willing to bet you will, even with post ban prices on hicap magazines, get into a better magazine cheaper just buying one that was manufactured elsewhere.
This would be cool for someone who likes guns and already has a printer, even if a printer cost as much as a toaster I wouldn't buy one because I wouldn't have any need for printed magazines. If it's ever IMPOSSIBLE to get a magazine other than ones from a 3d printer then I assure you all mine t More..

I work in 3d printing. No need to use a 3d printer to make gun parts. All you need is a mill. If you are going to use a new technology. Use it to make something new. Not something old fashion. 3D Printing can do things machining cannot. In other words, you can make weapons beyond what is currently possible to machine. Anyway, let the simple minded do simple minded things with advanced technology. lol

no need to have your nose in the air, it's about letting the masses have access to pricey tech capability that was confined to large corporations. The internet and large computers was around for decades before it was opened up with the advent of personal computers that were small and affordable, now look where we are

Laws apply equally to everyone, but they are only meaningful to the people willing to obey them.
To the people who disobey them they are just words on paper.
You can hold the entire Brady Bill in front of you but it won't stop a bullet.

I think the point is that supplies of the relevant springs would then be controlled.
But that would be overcome by including instructions for forging a spring from wire.

Now to print bullets and actual gun parts, not just the magazine! Yes I know these are plastics and that's why the clips are only being used. But I know that the real deal is not too far around the corner. Good thing these 'printers' costs tens of thousands of dollars or else we would have every poor sob making weapons.

@KnowSkillz You can build a 3D printer for less than $100. You can cad your own designs and get them printed cheap as chips. Or you can buy a 3d printer for less than $1000.

Only thing is Id like to see is the rifle being fired to a target, Many questions come to mind when someone attempts to print a rifle, Is it accurate?, How long before the fkn barrel over heats & melts away etc, Like Ive said before this is a nice concept & people already jumping on the bandwagon aren't even sure if a printed rifle has better Or equal working value to a real one.
