Proof That Modern America Would Try to Crucify Jesus Christ?

Eric Montanez, a vegan hippy from Orlando, FL was put on trial for feeding the homeless, but a jury found him not guilty of violating a controversial ban on feeding people in public parks.

Certain parts of the country are trying to outlaw feeding the homeless? The whole concept of Christian charity is lost on some politicians if we have laws like this.

  • Sit down.

I have a confession to make. This is very difficult for me to do.

I agree with the vegan hippie. I cannot believe those words just crossed my mind but it's true. Who the fuck has the right to tell me who can I feed or not feed?

It doesn't matter who is or isn't in the video. The gubby is trying to tell you that you can't feed another human being in a public park. I guess you family shouldn't be allow to picnic there either.

  • The Orlando law, which is supported by local business owners who say the homeless drive away customers, has been challenged in court by civil rights groups.
It allows charities to feed more than 25 people at a time within 3.2 kilometres of the Orlando City Hall only if they have a special permit.
They are able to receive two permits a year.

  • He shouldn't be feeding those bums. They are a worthless drain on the economy and help no one. They sooner they die the better. In fact I'm gonna round up some buddies and go stomp the sh!t out of some bums tonight for loitering to close to my neighborhood.

  • look at it anthropologically...homeless people just live a different way, and many of them do it by choice as if they plainly reject trying to live like the rest of us. applying any notion of morality to how these people live and what they do is the wrong way to approach it.

  • Pretty disgusting really that Orlando would do something so incredibly stupid. It is very true, if Jesus was to stand up today and run for President, say the things that he did in the Bible, he would be laughed at like the Republicans do Ron Paul. They've turned the religion into a hate device and not what it was meant to be. As my bumpersticker says: "Jesus Called, He wants his religion back!"

  • It will always be a hung jury if I'm ever part of that jury and a man is on trial for feeding the homeless

this is why Capitalism alone isn't the answer -- our country is Capitalist/Socialist for good reason (because many Americans still care about the welfare of other Americans)

  • This reminds me of a news story in Alberta from a few years ago. An Elderly woman was making sandwiches and handing them out to homeless and hungry people. Of course she was in trouble with the law for doing this.
I don't believe she was charged, but she did receive a warning to stop unless she applied for the proper paperwork and registration to continue doing what she was doing. In her response she described how she could afford food or fees, but not both on her fixed income.

  • One way the system is designed to keep people on the streets is requirements for employment and housing, and in some cases even purchasing goods.

You can't be on a payroll in the US and most other country's without a active home address and telephone. You can't rent a place without a home address, telephone, and preferences. You can't get a state ID or SSN card without a home address, telephone, birth, certificate, and in some cases another official picture ID.

Those are just base hold back, t More..

This is not about feeding another human being! This is about the rule of the law! This dirty prick thinks that he is above the law by doing what the does. His actions shake the very foundations of our Democratic society. He has to be dealt with harshly just like any other criminal."
Give us some personal examples about how law is enforced in your area you sound like you know what you're talking about.

  • There's got to be more to this story. The law is there for a reason. I'd like to see just what the ordinance says, how it is enforced, and why it was created.

Isn't it a bit premature to reach for conclusions w/o all the facts?

  • this video = wtf?
If this is true (the ordinance) then we really live in a messed up time. So lemme get this strait, we just let people die of starvation BECAUSE they don't have anything? BECAUSE they are homeless? Or is it just not ok to feed anyone? Can parents feed their children in public? I'm confused mr. politician. WTF do you mean you sack of shit? That law shakes the foundation of our society, a Republic.

I hate hippies. I hate protestors. But this one is right on the money. Just as I don't want gubby taking my money and spending it where they think it should go, I don't want them telling me what to do with my money. He wants to feed other people with his? More power to him.
