Great White attack cuts surfer in half
Beaches off the popular family retreat Wedge Island in Western Australia were closed this weekend after a surfer was reportedly bitten in half by a great white shark.
Benjamin Charles Linden, the 24-year-old victim, was surfing with a friend on Saturday morning when he was attacked and killed.
"There was blood everywhere and a massive, massive white shark circling the body," Matt Holmes, a witness who was jet skiing nearby at the time of the attack, told Sky News. “I reached to grab the body and the shark came at me on the jet ski and tried to throw me off."
Holmes said that Linden's body was cut in half.

I wonder how many people will have to get eaten by great whites off Australia's coasts before everyone can agree that they do view humans as prey? I've seen every shark week show and have an oceanographer friend who's told me the same thing- "they don't target humans"... Bullshit.

@SSSox88 My understanding is they don't target humans but if humans present themselves as "food" (as a surfer on a board from below looking like a seal) or even mimicking animal actions, that is when they tend to strike..I could be wrong

@Wyseguy67 Recent studies have shown that over the generations sharks have started to enjoy the taste of people. shark strikes are slowly increasing and the amount of damage is increasing. meaning they are not 1 bite and leaveing so often anymore - they come back for more.
watch The Reef on netflix if u get the chance, true story about a group of people who got stranded out at sea.

but didnt they say a few months ago that there was a MASSIVE white shark out there. one bigger than theyd ever seen that had killed 2 people and was still lurking.
