Footage of the impact flash, & wreckage field of Yeti Air flight 103: 18 killed
Yeti Air flight 103 (DHC-6 S/N 9N-AFE), crashed on October 8th, '08, while on a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla airport.
The accident was a controlled flight into terrain as the pilot elected to land at Lukla, despite the thick fog which completely obscured the runway.
Sixteen passengers, & two crew members were killed.
Captain Surendra Kunwar was the only survivor.

this was listed in the top 10 of the most dangerous airfields in the world. if you take a close look at the end of the runway you will understand why.
