Hello LL-ers. I was browsing my second HDD to see what is on it, it is kind of a mess.... I want to format it soon, but before I wanted to check it and copy what is to be kept. Came across this photo. It must be of the late 70's or begin 80's, I am not sure, must ask my mother for that. My mother and I went to the zoo. End this year I will hit the big four o and this photo triggered some good childhood memories. I don't mind becoming 40, some of my schoolmates and army buddies never made it so far sadly enough. Like a good wine, the older it gets, the better the taste.......... ***** laughing with lots of self-mockery *****

I can look at old photos all day long. I remember the rolled up cuffs, you would keep a pair of jeans that were handed down so long - they became ankle freezers.

Hey Marco, thanks for sharing! Like someone else commented, you look like a cocky boy! Seeing your cuffed pants brings back good memories of my childhood.
You may have very well started a new LL series about posting ourselves as youngsters.
Voted!

@Ruffus They sure were carefree, weren't they.... We didn't go on holidays to foreign countries back then, there simply wasn't the money for it, but once in a while, we did daytrips like this. I never felt I missed something, as a kid I treasured those trips like a two week vacation in Spain.

The only birthday that ever bothered me was my 45th. I was shaving the next day when it hit me that I would be 50 in just 5 more years! It took me a month to get past that. LOL Great picture man, Thanks for sharing some of your memories!

Did your Ma make you wear your sisters coat that day, lol, just kidding! Love old photos, even of people I don't know. Oh and welcome to almost being 40, I turned in June. Dreaded it for two years prior but it wasn't that bad. I just keep telling people i'm 39. Can't bring myself to say 40 yet. Denial is a wonder thing at times!

If there was any age I wish I could stay at, it would be 40. Still young enough to have fun, and smart enough not to have too much. Of course I'll have to find out what 50, 60, 70 etc. is like.
