Thank you for the tour. I memorized all of that. Now I am a pilot.

My granddad was a pilot and used to fly DC-9's, 767's and 747's so I got to fly in the cockpit all the time when I was young. I remember being so amazed at all the lights and controls and asking over and over what each one was for. What's that for pop, what's this do pop? lol Fun times

That is a cute story.
I like the mental image. I can tell you have fond memories of those times.
I fly 757's between Boston and Atlanta 4 times per week.

@skyhawk53 Yup, fond memories for sure. Don't know how I didn't end up a pilot myself.

WOW WOW WOW WOW
She knows her stuff, I would feel very safe in the cabin with her at control.
I am still am always amazed that a item weighting thousands of pounds can achieve flight. The men and women who keep them in the air are just amazing.

This is awesome, so now if there's ever a situation where they say "attention, does anyone know how to fly the plane", I can just bring up this liveleak vid and boom, bob's ur uncle! Let's land this bad boy. Do they have McDonald's drive thrus in the sky but? Cos I might get the munchies, plus this comment's now getting too long.

Cool, thanx! But flying a regional and making 30-45 grand a year is a far cry from what it was before the deregulation

Major airline pilots can make around $150 an hour in Canada.

@jay333dee accidents: airbus 5, boeing 7 (on the first seven years of exploitation for both A320/737NG).
source: ICAO (annex 13) International Civil Aviation Organization.

But the boeing is more recent now.
