The 1956 Grand Rapids, Michigan Tornado

This was the infamous Hudsonville-Standale Tornado of 1956.
After it first touched down just outside of Allegan, the tornado went Northeast about 50 miles before finally dissipating. Hudsonville, Standale, and suburban areas of Grand Rapids were devastated by the tornado's path.
This was the last known F5 to have hit Michigan, occuring just 3 years after the F5 of Flint, Michigan, which killed 116 people.

    • No, it's a column of rapidly spinning low air pressure, commonly from the most violent part of a mesocyclone. It's a storm, not a fairytale.

    • As you probably know, or don't obviously, "Finger of God" is a common term used to describe F5 tornadoes. But thank you for your totally unnecessary description.

    • Oh and another thing: If you'd like to convey a message through your avatar, how about getting one that people can actually read. I mean what the fuck is all that jibberish in between "Jesus was" and "Everything Conservatives Hate?"
