Still better than the middle eastern snackbarers. At least he put it to his shoulder and aimed, islamists just spray from the hip or hold the gun with outstretched arms and ask allah to guide the bullets to the target(allah does not oblige).

As solid as the Mauser is, it's still doesn't hold a candle to the M1 Garand, in my opinion. The semi-automatic battle rifle was innovative and probably helped our boys (NATO) to a much greater degree than is apparent.
On another note, that AK looked pretty darned good. What type is it and from which country did it come? Is that a Russian AK 74 (judging my the muzzle break)?

ah,the K98.Has the finest boltaction ever invented and for a service rifle is incredibly accurate.Stick a set of glass on it and you're good for 1000yards.Yours looks to be in much better condition than mine though!

@Zeb
The Lee-Enfield beats the K98 in most shoot-outs.
The double pressure on the trigger makes it almost a sniper rifle. Which it often was when fitted with optics.

The Enfield is definetly faster to cycle and is a more comfortable rifle to shoot,but i find the K98 slightly more accurate.Both of these are with homeloads i might add.Only hiccup is my K98 looks like an old fencepost as its old warstock (its 1944) with no blueing,dents and teeth marks in the wood,but the barrel is superb.The Enfield is a 1950 Long Branch and almost immaculate.

I've only ever used the Lee-Enfield, not the K98. In comparison to the FN-FAL and M16 which I know well the SMLE was a delight to use. Much more accurate for sure.
Both the K98 and SMLE are sighted out to 2000 metres/yards. This means 1000 metres/yards is realistic compared to the FAL/M16 which were good to around 300m/yards

I've got a 1940 Mauser Borsigwalde. I baby mine, but its got a good bore and will last. The one featured in this video doesn't appear to be German, but rather a Yugoslavian M24/47 Mauser. Lacks a front sight hood, the handguards are different, with the wood surrounding the rear sight and going up to the front of the receiver. Seems to have evenly thinning to about 50% of original bluing.
