What I was getting at. And it would take me a week to type. Is I don't look at religion as bad because of what has happened in the past. And tryed to make light of what I think religion has done good.
I'm sorry if that did not come accrossed in the vid.
Also try to understand. I do hear that atleast once a week. Because this area I live in.
Is prodominatly MORMONS. And they are that way! I know your not!

Great stuff! I've had this conversation with my roomate before. He was raised atheist, I wasn't.
It's harder breaking out of that religious mindset esspecialy in America. Fear and love are powerful emotions, and skewing them durring childhood ****s with your head alot. I envy the agnostics and the atheists who can just ignore religion. It's very mucha part of who I was, and who i am now.
When you're raised on fear and then you find out that fear is unfounded...ya tend to build up a great deal of resentment all at once. Maybe thats just an excuse, I dunno.
When I talk to Fill the Void it's like talking to myself a few years ago. but I have to talk to him because it shows me how looneytoons I used tobe. I wish I was raided as a Zen Buddhist.

I have very similar opinions on religion. But I differ in that I don't like to see people indoctrinated into believing incredibly unbelievable things. It bothers me, because it is so unrational. And i do not think it serves a purpose.
Also, you said that a lot of good values come from religion. I disagree in part with that. Because as I believe taht all religions are man made, the values came from man, and not religion, and would have been tha same without religion. But it is true that religions have probably helped to preserve these values, sadly, a bunch of bad ones too.
On a less important note, there is at least one organized atheist organisation; The Church of Satan. Though it far from representative of atheists in general, obviously.

Why does everyone have to belong to a group?
Its sickening to see so many people that just want to follow, follow follow follow and follow.
Just believe in you want to believe in and enjoy your stupid life because everyone is going to die soon. We only have an approx life span of 80 years.
Why not enjoy every single day with out worrying about being part of something or if god exist or not.
People waste so much time on nonsense when there are so many other issues to be addressed like improving ourselves or the conditions in which we live in for our loved ones and society.

Good comment to me king. I am a christian but I don't agree with big religion. As for your thoughts btdt, I enjoyed hearing them. The one thing that confounds me about atheist is there apparent intolerance for religion. It seems that you tolerate it. I know we could all get into a hissy and detail reasons to hate one religion over another or claim that religion is bad and atheist have a morale high ground, but we don't need that. Faith is a personal thing. If we can all understand that and practice it personally then maybe we could all tolerate each other. As for atheism, LL has convinced me that it is a religion of faith. No one is more faithful at preaching to the masses than atheist. Good post

Wether or not Religion is man made! We agree on the values! I have seen in life how religion has changed lifes. Even alcaholics.
So I cannot say the value of religion is bad! Just not for me.
To be in a devil worshiping group or accult! you couldn not in no way be athiest! because a athiest does not belive in any spirt after life.
