GUTHRIE, Ky. - Kentucky State Police say they've arrested a
teenager in the death of a 9-year-old western Kentucky girl.
Police said in a statement on Monday that they have charged a
17-year-old with murder and resisting arrest in the death of Amy R.
Dye. The girl was reported missing Friday and was found dead before
dawn Saturday in Todd County.
Preliminary autopsy results show she died of multiple blunt
force trauma.
The teen was arrested Sunday afternoon and taken to the Warren
County Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Bowling Green. Police
spokesman Stu Recke (REK'-ee) declined to say whether the victim
and the suspect knew each other.
Troopers are continuing to investigate.
