what's interesting is that the seatbelt could've got him killed. at least this way he was able to lean (or get thrown) to the side and avoid getting crushed. I'm not making a case for not wearing seatbelts, but want to point out that nothing is written in the stone and it all depends on the situation and the person's luck.

I don't know where this happened, but the license plate of the Lada is Russian (40 - Kaluga Oblast), Hungarian license plates are quite different. Moreover in Hungary there are no motorways like this one, without steel or concrete dividers between the two direction. So I think this wasn't in Hungary.
