Gauging train on the Met
a film by Fred Ivey, celebrated rail camera man and film-maker. As The UK Loading Gauge is so tight with restricted space in many areas it's imperative to always check that everything falls within the accepted Gauge for as the old saying goes ' ..there's no such thing as a small accident on the railway'.
this is an interesting film (if you like this sort of thing) for it is testing an above ground section of the Metropolitan underground line using smaller sized underground sized tunnel locomotives at either end with a full sized Overground Standard Guage sized Brake Wagon being used as an inspection wagon.
