Arlington police are looking into whether or not an officer used excessive force Wednesday night to break up a series of fights.

In a video posted online, an officer is seen slamming a girl to the ground. The 15 year-old girl, who has not been identified, was arrested for allegedly fighting.

Arlington police have started an investigation and are hoping people with other videos of the incident will come forward.

"At the end of the day, we just don't have all of the facts yet," said Sgt. Christopher Cook.

The incident happened after fights broke out at a dance hall in the 1000 block of Collins Street.

Authorities have put out a call for any other videos of the incident and asked patience from anyone alarmed by these images.

"Let the investigation run its process," Cook said. "I assure you that the Arlington Police Department investigates use of force very, very seriously."

The officer involved is working his regular duty during the investigation, and police say the teenage girl in this video is cooperating with authorities.

In all, five people were arrested during the incident.
