Captain calamity loses his Catamaran off the Newquay coast

Maritime muppet Glen Crawley destroyed his catamaran 'Mischief' off the coast of Newquay while attempting to ride a wave on September 30th.
Dubbed 'Captain Calamity' by the RNLI, Crawley has been rescued 13 times by the voluntary organisation at a total cost of some £30,000.

This time however his £1,200 boat was wrecked.

  • They should make him reimburse for the rescues...and force him to retire.

    • There was a similar guy in N. wales a few years ago. He was treating the Lifeboats as a free breakdown recovery service. He had actually gone to sea with a road map instead of a chart. The local lifeboat PAID for him to do a yachting class.

UK lifeboats are great. Very few paid staff, mainly volunteer crews, usually local fishermen. 100 percent charity funded & they fiercely refuse government financial assistance because they do not want landlubbers making decisions!
