dear olde britain, did we forget that the germans had already developed, trailed and run the jet engine 8 years before??? reminds me of when we unveiled the 100 mph steam train as the french were unveiling an electric one oohh well..

I can imagine the big desapointment of all the men, who worked hard on this project, when they saw they beautiful bird retired so soon because the era of the jets. Aviation history run ahead with no mercy in number of similar cases...

Looks like the design of this plane was incorporated into the de Havilland Comet which was the first commercial jet airliner.

I know what you mean. This was the era of super streamlining, every sharp edge was rounded off and polished aluminium was the order of the day.
