  • String theory, dark matter and the standard model are bullshit... Physics is forever changing and a lot Physicists MAKE the theories work in their algorithms and to think we know everything now is arrogant.

Higgs boson may exist but surely the universe doesn't just stop there... why would particles be so small and keep dividing billions of times smaller than an atom and then suddenly stop...

    • @Warriorsden its the product of over active imaginations and the coincidentiality of math. And not the math we know that goes from 0-9, but theoretical math which functions randomly based upon the design of the fundamentals; like binary that functions from 0-1... i think you could blame computers for being designed to recognize patterns in their data like reappearing numbers that represent subatomic particles for these assholes to fill in their own realities.

    • @Warriorsden Quote "Physics is forever changin", i'm still gonna fall when i let go of a branch when climbing a tree... Point being, it's not the physics that's changing, but our theory about them

  • It seems to me , in my simple mind that string theory is like hanging from a string! If it breaks, you're screwed!

My guess is that it is an ugly mess attempting to link together years of costly research.

And yess it really is a guess. At least I'm honest! Its a temporary solution to confusion.

  • In my opinion, when a theory has something missing that is supposed to tie the whole thing together, that is an indication that the theory is wrong. That is to say, what scientists do, is to try to salvage their theory by realizing the conditions under which their theory would work, and then working those conditions into the theory ad hoc, in this case, as a "mysterious particle", which they assume must exist, because the rest of their theory tells them so. It could even result in them More..

    • @wellybub You have to start somewhere, and that somewhere will never be the whole truth. Therefore by definition it is lacking something. You take a theory, which was invented in the mind to explain thousands of events from the micro to the macro, and you go from there. No one in the history of science was able to work the other way around and say, Eureka! This is it, I know exactly how it works. I just dont know what it does.

  • Kaku has the gift or charisma and the ability to convey complex physics info to the layman (albeit it heavily watered down). I always enjoy listening to him speak.

  • Michio Kaku: String Theory Is The Only Game In Town ???

    Not entirely true...There's also "Double-Dutch"
(or jumprope if you like to call it that) !

  • I'm still trying to figure out a small cheap way to generate the 1.21 gigawatts I need for my flux capacitor.

  • He's so right about the media stuff! But very interesting indeed, a bit beyond my mathematical abilities, but he surely did explain everything in a way that's understandable!

  • translation: please keep sending those grants, big governments, in the hopes of garnering new technology in order to kill bigger, so we can maintain our egos and the lifestyles of which we scientists are accustom;blah, blah, blah.
