Part of channel(s): Syria (current event)Since Assad does not know how to root out a handful of "petty criminals and thugs" (according to him and his propaganda machine), he instead choses to destroy a whole city or district instead of sending in special forces or troops.
Here's the result of such a tactic. To me it looks a lot like stalingrad 1943.

Now try to think of a comparison. Some "foreign terrorists" (Assad claims) come to your country, they settle inside chicago city, and instead of sending in special forces, your government decides to reduce chicago to rubbles and drive out all the civilians and terrorists alike instead.

You can be part of 'special forces' and personally eliminate large gangs of foreign pedophile nutcases who believe they can't die because allah protects them, armed with with rpgs, grenades, bombs and aks then. How you would do it?

When they number 65,000 it is not convenient to send the special forces. Why don't the Syrian government just gas the terrorists hordes and spare the buildings is beyond me.

The 65.000 fighters are mainly syrians. I'd guess only around 500-1000 fighters are foreigners.

Personally, I think nerve agents shouldn't even be on the table as a reaction but if that proved to be the case and NATO made a move against all logic. If the civillians in the city started welcomeing in the terrorists then yea artillary is always the way to go it saves resorces. And Homs was always a shithole surrounded by Palastinian refugee camps, most the people there are uneducated anyway so they would do something stupid like allowing forign terrorists in.
