  • maybe they will take the snow away from the roof next time before it collapses?!? duh? Some might say that its common sence that snow does have weight and people might come to some sort of conclusion seeing the snow piling on the roof...

    • It was a defective addition. The original part held up just fine. Commercial buildings are designed to withstand snow loads unless somebody messes up on the design or calculations. Typically you're not supposed to have to get on a roof and clear snow off a commercial building.

  • From the video it did not seem like an abundant amount of snow on the roofs. Lucky that it was closed at the time of collapse

  • i don't understand all these roof collapses in the past couple of months and how there never seems to be that much snow. Does the U.S have different building codes then in Canada because we sometimes get 10 times the amount and it rarely if ever happens here.

    I guess it boils down to very poor construction and design.
