Perfect weld with over the top grinding in another version of this demonstration (using built in machine grinding not manual). Love this friction welding tech and looking at how I can implement it into my designs, especially for SS/alu bonding.

Designing high end LED systems, some pipe like work possibly but nothing proper like what you'd likely get up to! Learning how all this stuff works but likely contracting most of it out. Hard to do QC if you don't know what you are looking at.
It does look more efficient until it doesn't fit or can't reach the area required. I don't think they'll ever replace welders. You are like doctors of hard materials!

This is friction stir welding. Difference being the two parts are not rubbed together but a third part rubs instead. Allows for long sections to be joined.

awesome demo, I've only seen the other one where they rub the two parts together, feel a bit wiser already. Looks seamless.
