  • Total bullsh*t. All these figures are ridiculously close to each other. And they leave out the fact that the Apache's weapon & flight technology is so far ahead of the Russian junk that it would be destroyed before it ever even saw the Apache. What about reliabilty figures? What about pilot skill & training figures? The counter-rotating main rotor alone is inefficient, incredibly noisy, and extremely prone to mechanical failure.

  • First of all, let me start by saying your video sucked. Secondly, lets look at sighting, targeting, tracking systems....this alone enables the Apache to put more accurate, faster hits on target. Ill stop there, get your facts straight then make a new video.

    • @fullblownchaos I agree...who cares if this piece of shit, ugly ass Russian helicopter is faster, can lift more and blah blah. Is it battle proven like the Apache? I'll take the apaches battle proven efficiency any day! Plus it looks cooler. Russia can suck my balls!!

    • @fullblownchaos You have stats on sighting, targeting, tracking systems of these aircraft? please share.

  • Ultimately, it's the skill of the pilot that decides which is best.

  • its all about how you use it at the end of the day. and as long as you are killing rags heads like us with your superior ka-50 then we're all happy....

  • yeah, but which one gets the chicks?

  • What about the radar and missle guidance systems the Americans are much better than the russians, also about quality the Russians have mechanical issues and are hard to pilot

    • @justingregg radars--maybe, rockets--no...

    • @ZyXEL Missiles, not rockets. The KA-50 is a fine rocket firing platform, but guided missile wise the AH-64 wins hands down. The KA-50 does carry long range AA missiles as opposed to the relatively short range stinger on the apache, but the point of helicopters is to support ground troops, not to engage air targets. If we were fighting an enemy with helicopter capability we'd just shoot them all down with our fighter aircraft anyway.

    • @justingregg You are naive. Russian missile defense the best in the world.

  • I know Apache's are well armoured, but have no idea if KA-50's offer much protection. Is this sort of like comparing a tank to a jeep?

    • @Draganov fisrt try to shoot one a that speed. Armor won't save you from rocket.

    • @ZyXEL You do know 95km/h difference is about as meaningful as a 1 millimeter variation between the current distance between the Sun and the Earth? Any modern weapon system couldn't care less if you're traveling at either top speed. The fastest jets can't outrun weapons either.

    • Plus, if it lacks the armour of the Apache (which can withstand small arms fire while hovering and targeting), it does render it far less useful. 99% of ground forces have weapons that can take down helicopters that are much faster than either one of these.

    • @Draganov This is off the subject, but i thought standard procedure for the sr-71 to evade a missile was to speed up and outrun it.

    • @Draganov Do you understand that armor will save crew only from handgun fire? Nether one of choppers will survive missile strike.

  • Hmm what about heat signature, stealth capabilities, electronics technology and the other important factors of modern warfare?

Now here's a man who knows how to make lemonade out of lemons without so much as a hint of argument. Yer my kind of Canadian, friend. (Can I come along for that moose hunt? I sure could use a backstrap or two!)

  • Your big problem is, you need decent pilots.

US/Canadian/Australian/British/Dutch/Swedish/Japanese etc. pilots are about 800% better than Soviet pilots. For example, we don't let our pilots fly with a blood/vodka content. Also, a reliance on Chinese (yes, you stole it from them - and they stole it from us) technology, is dangerous.

Enjoy your "fun day in the sun", when Putin is boss again, it will all come back to bite you.

  • What makes the AH-64 Apache superior to the Ka-50(52) is its weapon systems and electronics. I have no doubt that the Ka-50(52) is a good helicopter but I doubt very much that it can handle the same tasks just as well as an AH-64 Apache.

  • No mention of sensors, navigation, communication or fire control systems. Not to mention survivability.
