Actually you're wrong. Hospitals are required BY LAW to treat a patient, regardless of insurance status.
If he doesn't have insurance, he was still treated, and will be sure to enjoy his lifetime of harassing phone calls and letters from the hospital billing department.

Too funny. Last year I had a dentist work on a tooth that had been causing me toothaches for years. He finally discovered that, what looked like a filling on the x-ray was actually a bullet fragment from when I got shot in the jaw back in my lawless days.
I still have the fragment around here somewhere.
