Nat’l: Police officer nabbed in street prostitution sting

7/5/2011 – New Orleans, LA — A New Orleans police officer was arrested last week after he reportedly solicited another undercover officer posing as a street prostitute during a vice sting.

According to published reports, Marc Galbreth, 24, drove his personal vehicle up to a woman he thought was a prostitute, flashed his NOPD credentials and solicited her. He then apparently sensed something wasn’t right with the woman’s demeanor and quickly drove away.

The undercover officer was able to see Galbreth’s license plate and reported the incident to detectives who then tracked Galbreth down.

Galbreth has been placed on suspension without pay while an internal investigation is completed. Galbreth has been with the NOPD for almost three years and was assigned to the NOPD’s Fifth District.

The sting Galbreth was caught up in reportedly netted 29 arrests in 8 days.

    • @uschairforcesgt The spread of disease, the decline of neighborhoods, the danger to children in these areas, the propagation of hopelessness in the lives of the few that are not too far gone... Who is not hurt?

    • @tipsypyro One of the reasons it is legal in many countries is because not only can the gov't then tax it, they can regulate it, like requiring the whores to get checked for disease. They don't call it "the world's oldest proffesion" for nothing, it's obviously not something that will ever go away, ever, period.

    • @tipsypyro those neighborhoods are shitty to begin with. those children are in danger to begin with. whores or no whores. look at nevada, with legal prostitution. they have none of the problems that you describe because the industry is regulated. street corner hookers are not regulated.

like i said im not into prostitutes myself only because they creep me out, but it isn't any of my damned business if someone else wants to visit one.

  • We need to STOP trying to legislate MORALITY.

Legalize prostitution. Making it illegal has done little to stop it.

The Chicken Ranch in LaGrange, Texas Worked out just fine. No rapes in the area, during it's day and the town wanted it to stay. I forget when it was outlawed; maybe about 1980.

  • when one cop arrests another cop, even for a victim-less crime, maybe it's a sign there are TOO MANY cops in this country?
