First aired between 1951 and 1959. Jack Webb got the series rolling again from 1967 to 1970. He was actually working to bring it back yet again but his passing away put the kibosh on the project. From 1951 to 59 there were 267 episodes. The 1967 to 70 Dragnet series had 98 episodes. I included the opening and closing to both here. The 1967 series is first for reasons I won't get into. So if you like the old series better then just hang in there or just fast forward to the Marlboro commercial.

There was a theatrical Dragnet movie in 1954. A made for TV movie aired in 1969. We're not going to discuss the 1987 movie with Dan Aykroyd.

Dragnet was one of those shows that made the transition from the heyday of radio to TV. I have my Sirius XM radio record it, it's a damn cool show if you get the opportunity to hear it.
