That's a black bear, not a grizzly. And it's young, probably not more than a year. Though I have seen adult black bears run from territorial cats as well.
It's a black bear, a grizzly has a dish type face and huge hump between its shoulders whereas the black bear has a face more like a dog with the protruding snout.
@ernie2skidoo Also, Grizzlies are HUGE.
Good job kitty.
Black bear. And the only thing that needed protecting was the trash bag the black bear was trying to snag.
That's the smallest, blackest grizzly bear I've seen

It's a black bear, not a grizzly.
That's a black bear, not grizzly.
Ain't no grizzly. Good vid though.
That's a black bear cub.
Nice video. But all he wanted was that white bag of trash... and he still made off with it. Bear 1 Cat .5 (for trying) ha
Great video. Thanks for posting.
Grizzlies are brown. This was a juvenile black bear who was probably not really hungry.
A hungry, full grown black bear would eat your pet! Get a gun, several dogs or move to a safer neighborhood.
sorry, wasn't a grizzly and it wasn't after mom and child, mangy garbage munching black bear. Baby sounded pretty darn cute tho.
I think thats a rhinoceros, not a grizzly.
Yup. You can tell by the ears.
The closest thing we have to grizzly bears in blighty is drunken fat birds on a Friday night.
And grizzly is an understatement...
@jackal452 lolo indeed
Black bear for sure

house cat comically (by the sound of the troll in the room)defends mother and son (who were secure inside a house) from a bear (not grizzly) that only came for garbage and nothing else.....
