ETwo Palestinian terrorists were killed Monday evening when Israeli aircraft targeted a rocket-launching cell in northern Gaza,
The army said the terrorists were hit as they were attempting to fire
rockets towards the western Negev region. Palestinian sources in the Hamas-ruled
territory confirmed that two terrorists were killed in the attack.

The aerial strike came just a few hours after Palestinian
terrorists fired a rocket from Gaza towards the Hof Ashkelon Regional
Council. There were no reports of injury or damage.

Earlier, at around noon, the Israel Air Force struck
targets in the northern Gaza Strip. Palestinian sources said two Islamic Jihad
terrorists were killed in the attack.
According to Palestinian reports, the two were targeted while riding a motorcycle near the north Gaza town of Beit Hanoun.
The army said both attacks were not related to Monday morning's terror attack
on defense contractor crews building the new security fence along the
Israel-Egypt border. The attack claimed the life of Said Phashpashe, 36,
from Haifa. Golani Brigade soldiers who were scrambled to the scene
killed two terrorists.
"We will continue to operate against any element that initiates terror activity against the State of Israel,"
an army official said following the aerial attack in Gaza Monday evening.
Israeli officials estimate that Islamic Jihad terrorists were behind the deadly attack along the Israel-Egypt border.
"The terrorists from Gaza attacked from Sinai because Islamic Jihad
realizes that it can no longer fire rockets from the Strip because
Israel will retaliate harshly," a member of the cabinet's special
security forum said.
