The Secrets of Scientology is a documentary which was broadcast on 28 September 2010 as part of the BBC's Panorama documentary strand. Presented by John Sweeney it is a follow up of his 2007 investigation into the Church of Scientology and features interviews with former high-ranking members of the organization.

  • Oh brother... Scientology is a cult, and, they're douche-bags, but this investigative journalist almost makes me sympathize with them. What a nob...

    Also, this is another example of why free speech is important. When Tom Cruise sues people for offending his cult, he sues them in England. Any American can say anything they like about Scientology, and they don't get thrown in jail for it.

  • The BBC and channel 4 news both have exceptional journalism. Unfortunately nothing in America comes close. When you watch fox you often wonder if the yanks have actually mastered sarcasm. Probably not though, they actually believe what they put out is fair and balanced.

      Just have to read between the lines and about 10 other news agencies to get a full picture on anything.

  • Why is their symbol a cross? Is it just to appeal to christians as a familiar symbol?

    I can't imagine alienating family members over religion. I'm a rather aggressive atheist and my father is pretty much a full blown evangelical christian. We still have a great relationship and I can't imagine ever having anything come between us to the the point that either of us would refuse to talk to each other.
