Doesn't look much for two weeks. The rebels seem to be quite efficient if they can hold half the city against an army!

The Germans held Stalingrad for quite some time, and that's when they were on the losing side.
It's not hard to "dig in" an urban setting against a larger army using guerrilla tactics. It's a matter of attrition, how long can the FSA hold out for? Not long, they are a disorganized band of rebels, a few officers taught by outside forces (Turkey, USA, England, France) what to attack and when.

@mphatik I thought the same, but when I saw how they destroyed a whole tank bataillon I changed my mind. Civil war will rage much longer than I expected.
