A day in the life of an uber-programmer. AKA Writing a Desert Strike clone.

I don't post many videos but thought this was one of the best I have seen for a while. It's just a timelapse of my friend Gianni showing off his pretty awesome programming skills. On a challenge from a fellow irc user, he decided to remake a basic version of Desert Strike overnight from scratch, although it took a bit longer than that but never mind.. Anyway I just thought this was a great little video showing a real master at work. You won't often get to see this in your life... It's not quite like Hollywood, but almost. :)

PLEASE VOTE UP SO THE MASSES CAN SEE WHAT REAL PROGRAMMING LOOKS LIKE!

Thanks.

Description from youtube:
-----------
This time it was really easy, I didn't have to waste any time choosing a "framework" - I just wrote one. Somebody else did the sterling work of ripping the graphics from the first level of desert strike. I just wrote a basic game engine to let you fly around it with a higher res window than the SNES can output. Took about 2 evenings. A lot of fun, plus you can fly the comanche as well as the apache :D

Maybe one day I'll get around to implementing the actual game logic and recording the sounds. Source code will go up on my github when I can be arsed. Windows binaries are located at www.scaramanga.co.uk/punani-strike-alpha.zip

Me love you long time perpy.
