  • This is an impressive plane. It outperforms most western fighters with ease. Western fighters are supreme because of computerized systems and long range. You DONT want to dogfight a russian...

  • Looks impressive in the air but the dashboard looked very dated - analogue rather than digital. Which country has the blue and yellow flag that keeps appearing?

  • Old technology, this is a trumped up stolen tech warbird from the Soviet era just before it went tits up.
F16 and F18 stuff, in old crap controls from the Soviet Union. In reality, the thing wouldn't last too long in an air to air battle now. Radar and advanced technology make it a "seen" aircraft and new air to air missiles would knock it out of the air long before it had a chance to see the American Raptor planes.
Good while it lasted by, that was then, this is now. Put it away boy More..

  • Makes me sick of you people, Americans are trained for "pussy fight", not "Dog Fight" and all of your comments are suppose to be great ! Russian planes have HUDs too, and other modern technology like long range missiles. Do you know about new Russian long range missile with range of 350 Km ?? I think no...

  • This stuff is a stolen technology American combo airplane. The Soviet Union didn't make a stinking thing of their own. They stole everything. The former system of government didn't trust anyone, especially their science people. In all those years, or decades the Soviets screwed up more stuff, spying on their own people, instead of being creative and innovative. It was cheaper to steal, than to do R & D. Just look at all the stuff, other than AK47's that the Soviet Union made in airplane adva More..

    • Stolen technology can be traced back to the end of WW 2 when the Russians took an American Boeing B-29 bomber that had been interned after an emergency landing Vladivostok and used it as a reverse engineering model to develop the TU-4 bomber. The Russians had a hard time replicating the advanced (at that time)engineering employed on the B-29. In appearance they were almost identical. Over 800 Tu-4 were produced.

  • Hehe, so you are not familiar with latest reports? 5th gen western fighters was totally smashed vs 4.5th gen eastern fighters. To quote the general witnessing the wargame/simulation : "Red Force dominated the exercise... it was like clubbing baby seals."
So much for the F22 and F35..
This report had alot of great conclusions and comments, like : "In addition to this rather blunt Red Force summation, the war gaming exercise demonstrated the JSF aircraft were next to useless whil More..

    • Oh really! Here is what a RAND press release on 09/25/2008 stated. Source: www.rand.org/paf/

"Andrew Hoehn, Director of RAND Project Air Force, made the following statement today: "Recently, articles have appeared in the Australian press with assertions regarding a war game in which analysts from RAND were involved. Those reports are not accurate. RAND did not present any analysis at the war game relating to the performance of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, nor did the game attempt More..

    • Ye, that RAND-report-claim looks dodgy. I personally still belive the JSF is way overhyped as a A2A aircraft. It's "joint strike abilities" might be awesome, but the airperformance-data aint really top class. Im looking forward to some reports and simulators showing us how this would work irl, not on paper.
We cant really take what Loockheed says for granted either.

    • Agreed. When aircraft are closely matched in capabilities and performance it ultimately comes down to pilot skills and training. That split second decision making in an ultra-high speed combat environment that spells victory or defeat. That significant edge, however slight, in machine and pilot is key. Lets hope that it's all in a war-game, simulated scenario in the future.
