Burglary Suspect Leads Deputy On High Speed Chase

An East Texas burglary suspect takes deputies on a quite a ride in the Riverland Community area around 8 p.m. Monday night.

The wild chase was all caught on dash cam video.

Deputy Brian Wood, with the Bowie County Sheriff's Office says he initiated a traffic stop after noticing that the vehicle was listed as a vehicle involved in a burglary. Once the deputy pulled the suspect over, who authorities now identify as Joshua Eldridge of Texarkana, TX stopped, but refused to get out of the car.

The chase reportedly lasted for about 10 minutes, in which, the suspect was tagged by deputies traveling up to 65 miles per hour.

During the chase, Bowie County deputies say Eldridge slammed his SUV into a resident's mailbox. The chase reportedly came to an end after Eldridge lost control of his vehicle.

It is believed by the Bowie County Sheriff's Office that Eldrige may be involved in multiple home burglaries in the area.

He's being charged with evading arrest with a vehicle, theft, and he reportedly has a felony warrant out of Miller County, Arkansas.

Inside the SUV deputies reportedly found property believed to have been taken from a vehicle burglary that had occurred in the area earlier that evening.

The investigation continues.
