@pxr5 You know what, it IS flipped, numerous sites are posting it unflipped, the wound is above the left eye... As for the patch, I just learned it is normal to have the flag reversed, to give the impression as if it were waving in the breeze caused by the soldier walking forward...

It's a fake. Three reasons. One is that the wound is over his right eye not his left eye. From what i've been hearing its a gruesome pic with brains exposed. In this pic they wouldn't need a DNA test. They wouldn't release the soldier's face in the pic.

Doubt that SEAL team would go in with any identifying markers on them, US flag on the sleeve?
Why is he not body bagged? Easiest way to transport. Even if they opened up the bag to take this photo, it would still be seen.
No serving member would willingly put his face in the same photo of a dead Osama due to potential of being ID'd

On a serious note people need to seriously calm the hell down. This photo and the last one are fake. However, they were not released by the GOVt. They were likely made by some sad lonely individual with too much time on their hands. The debate to release the actual photos and possible video are being debated for several good reasons. Give it time.
