Snow-house gets a free-range, organic, wild, non-GMO, all-natural skylight
The snow-knife is bone from a whale, seal, or caribou. The igloo is from the fallen snow. The clothing are furs from animals that were hunted with hand-made bows/arrows, hand-made traps, or other hand-made implements from wood, bone, sinew, leather. Nothing imported here and it is all cleaner/more chemical-free than anything I purchase from the well-run, organically-oriented grocery stores I frequent.
I have no desire to live the hard life dictated by Northerly conditions, but I admire the skill required to keep one's self, alive.

saw made from whale bone...or seal rib.
the Inuit tribes sure used to be good with the natural world. too bad they followed the ways of the white man...
now its monthly government checks, drunkenness, gambling houses and prefab homes.

@geoleojoh You are right. I saw a baleen snow-knife elsewhere and accidentally ascribed that material usage here. Corrected in the description and thank you for noting.

That would be a rough life. My brother lives in Alaska. Been there many times. Unimaginable how some of the people live in certain areas. But by golly they do.

liberals will NEVER understand this video and will do everything in their lazy ass power to make sure no one in the future understands it either. true conservatives, on the other hand, want to preserve the value of hard work and fighting for ones OWN survival.

Thanks for the upload. A house made entirely of H2O how ecolo is that? And no Windex to clean the window either.
This is one of my top faves in the documentary section.

Alas, this is all a thing of the past. The Eskimos (Inuit) now have to get training from the elders to do this. Revised, this could be a new source of tourism, as there are many "Southerners" who would love the chance to experience what is a way of life that may have to be revived if the world keeps going the way it is.
The Inuit were masters of survival in a cold world. Much can still be learned from them.

Hence the riddle:
"A man builds a house. All sides have southern exposure. A bear walks by. What color is the bear?"

1. look how she has no strenght and almost can't lift that block. 2. it clearly says in the video "From the inside Nyla cleans HER brand-new window" (emphasis added).
and yes, maybe i do frequent the wrong bars. but that's none of your buisness.

@screwnuts Nyla is one of Nanooks wives in the film, Nanook was fitting the window , she was just giving the new window a bit of a polish as women do
