  • Saying the US is a christian nation is like saying just because the president might have Christian beliefs that makes it a christian government.

    His religious beliefs may affect certain judgements but that doesn't mean the government itself is christian. The government itself has no official religion in any respect. It's up to the individuals to worship whatever they want themselves.

    • @MajorPaynei86 Since when? The protestants are FURIOUS with the blasphemous catholics and their graven images. ALL christians regard the sabbath as a holy day. They just ignore the bible's thoughts on it regarding not being allowed to do any work, not being able to pick up even a handful of sticks, since none of them are willing to sacrifice any significant part of their busy lives for god when the rubber hits the road.

    • @gregsto Agree. Protestants used to care about statues and whatnot but could give a sh*t less nowadays. Also, the commandment about the sabbath only cares about not doing work (that is how one kept it holy) (also, xtians have the wrong day)


      Just to let you know that the commandment about a rebellious child was never carried out in Israel's history. It would however certainly give a child a second thought.

  • I don't care what religion America was founded under (though I still hold that our fore-fathers were deists, not theists) We are in a position that makes us too damned important to the world to just be merely a Christian version of Iran.

    Freedom and a religiously neutral government makes us immune and infallible. That should be honored and praised not fought against.
