BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Police here say four boys, one just 11 years old, may be charged with first-degree robbery for allegedly robbing a gas station attendant at gunpoint over the weekend.
Police spokeswoman Carla Iafrate said the Chevron clerk was helping one of the boys at the counter when another grabbed the clerk in a choke hold and pressed a handgun to his neck late Sunday night.
The boy who was holding the gun took $200 from the cash register, and the boys ran off, Iafrate said.
Officers arrived at the gas station in the 16200 block of NE 8th Street, and were able to get clear images of the robbers from the store's security camera.
Iafrate said the boys were caught several hours later when a police officer recognized them as the kids seen in the video.
Iafrate said the boy suspected of holding the gun during the robbery is 15 years old and the brother of the 11-year-old boy who was arrested.
The two other boys are friends of the brothers, and Iafrate said one of them admitted helping plan the crime and serving as a lookout.
The boys gave police an Airsoft pistol they said they used during the robbery.
The four have not been charged, but Iafrate said the case will be forwarded to the King County Prosecutor's Office.
