BMW bikes takes a long time but 12 hours for clutch is insane.

That's because it lacks 10,000 wiring harnesses and loads of body panels.
It takes 3 hours to change the air filter on my Gold Wing. I have to disassemble the entire top section of the bike.

I can do a clutch on a Yamaha r1 oil and filter in 2 hours, if working slow and smoking a joint.

Yes but an R1 can be done while on the side stand, and you prob have your joint skinned before you start

That's German engineering for you. 12 hours for a clutch change. Takes less time in a 4 wheel drive truck.

Especially a BMW mechanic - in the US at least. Twelve hours is factory flat rate time. An average good mechanic could probably do it in five or six, maybe less.

I only drive cars that the elite can afford. Such as my Saturn Ion.

You ought to get you a bimmer. To change a pwr steering pump and a lower radiator hose is over $2k. When I heard "twenty" my hearing went out. Genuine parts from another well known source are about $600. At $90/hr, nobody's getting in a hurry.

I'm a mechanic and I stick with GM vehicles because they are so easy for me to work on. My saturn is a first class piece of shit but so easy to replace parts on.

Awkward bastard. Don't worry guys, on most bikes it's a lot less effort. You can do a full clutch change, inner and outer baskets + plates, in about half an hour if you disassemble using air tools.
