Now comes word that jose agostinho is dead, having been decapitated during a prison riot. Several people were found dead some pictures are unexplained for
Jose Agostinho has been compared to Austrian Josef Fritzl, who was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced to prison for keeping his daughter captive for 24 years in a homemade dungeon, and fathering seven (7) children with her.
In June of 2010, Pereira was charged with his daughter’s imprisonment and sex abuse, as well as the sex abuse of two of thechildren he had with her.
Convicted in December of 2010, he was sentenced to 63 years in prison for the abuse and depriving his daughter of her freedom by ‘private incarceration.’
When police arrested Jose, they found his children naked, malnourished and unable to communicate.
Earlier this week, behind bars and awaiting transfer to prison, a riot broke out in the Pinheiro jail.
The inmates were rioting over a ‘lack of drugs’, overcrowding and their inability to have food brought in by their families.
During the riot the prisoners appeared to target pedophiles and rapists, killing six of them. Four were decapitated and Jose Agostinho Pereira was among the four.
Prison justice at its finest? Or should this man, Jose Pereira, who held his daughter captive for twelve (12 ) years, raped her repeatedly, forced her to give birth to seven (7) children, been allowed to serve his sentence in Brazil’s squalid prison system?
What say you? Will the fact that someone can literally loose their head in prison deter any pedophile or rapist?
We in the United States segregate our prisoners to keep them safe—-should we stop doing that and toss them in general population?
I often think that criminals hellbent on committing sex crimes are aware they will be protected in our system and have no fear of imprisonment. If they knew they would be at the other inmate’s mercy, perhaps our sex crime rate would drop a bit.
