I've met many incredibly smart actors, the best ones are smart. Of course I've also met many stupid actors, but they tend to not be that great. Kind of like any profession.

WTF, as I was watching Prometheus I was thinking to myself how fucking lame it is that they used CG to animate everything in the movie instead of old school techniques... but the whole time it was real??
Say what you will about the movie, it had some incredible effects. Knowing that it was all animatronic blows my mind a little bit. Fucking incredible. Plus best job ever.
