Liveleak.com - Redefining the Media

Fire Mission

The events told in this film took place in 2008, and the interviews taken in 2009 near the end of the same deployment. I ask that when you watch, do not think of them as "the people over there" or as "just Iraqis". But imagine them as if it was your neighborhood that was hit, your family members that where killed.

  • I feel for the troops who were put into a war that eventually it became apparent that it was not necessary. I would however expect them to do what they are ordered to do. War is never clean. The psychopath chickenhawks in the Bush administration will burn in hell one day.

You said it. Let's hope Cheney and Bush burn in their lifetime.

  • Two soldiers perspectives(whining), dramatic music and extreme zooming. Presto!!!! Liberal perspective executed. Michael Moore must have produced this. Wankers.

I've thought that myself at times. I do my job like I'm told. It allows me to raise a family and I'm glad that my unit hasn't had any significant **** ups. The locals know if you're ******* up and they target you if you are.

Our unit hasn't lost any lives in the last few deployments, which is pretty amazing. A few close calls and broken bones but nobody died. Other units that were pulling some of the stunts like these guys described weren't so lucky.

A First Lieutenant in a neighboring unit had a bad reputation for being a serious asshole, so one day while getting out of his humvee to attend a meeting with the community leaders he had 11 EFPs simultaneously detonated in his direction. They watched his movements over a few weeks and knew where he usually parked it and where he walked. None of his other guys were hurt. They just wanted to send a message.

  • no one detests war more than those who fight them. while some will criticize and others will praise these two, i see two american soldiers serving my country and that is enough to merit my respect and appreciation. they have earned the right to criticize and their generation will soon be deciding whether future situations merit a military response. they will one day have grandchildren who have listened to them and they will pass along their wisdom. whatever their decision, these soldiers and their peers will know firsthand what that entails.

    thank you, soldiers.

Exactly. They should have thought of what they sighed up for.

  • Sorry have to ask..with all the FAKE soldiers, is there any proof these folks were REALLY there?

I see them talking but I don't see them actually in ANY of the footage.

BTW- If everything is OK in Iraq why do they have to drive around in armored vehicles? Why is there video after video on LL of US forces getting attacked? If their not a threat to us?
