  • You hit me in a soft spot star53. On many things the left has gone to far, and so has the right. The truth is that on most of the soft issues(light bulbs, gay marriage, etc.) I side with the conservatives.

But in my heart I know I will always be a working man, so I know that whomever I vote for in the two party system I will be getting screwed. ie, one want's to ship my job to Mexico, and the other wants me to live like Mexicans.

  • Drowning consumers slowly in an ever-deepening sea of regulation.
If politicians had enacted today's life-enveloping regulations in the 1970's, they'd have been lynched.

  • There is basically no defense for the volumes of liberal regulations, choking the life out of the consumer and businesses. I agree with 99% of what Rand Paul says and most people with common sense would agree with him. That's why the liberals automatically labeled him a racist. Deflect, redirect and smear.

  • Bigger government always equals loss and failure (unless you're a successful military dictatorship...and there are none).

Disagree? Ask then, who was buying the "shitty loans" our banks were making to those who couldn't even afford the interest payments on their homes?

You got it....The US Government (through Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae...governmental agencies now wholly owned by us...the tax payer)

  • Quit @ 4:00 - she explained to him that most of these regulations are not necessarily new and were bi-partisan efforts, but notice he interrupts her anyway. The light bulbs are a pefect example. This requirement came through in the last administration as has been pointed out to you previously Star - but hey, whatever it takes right?

Grandstanding over toilets - I'm underwhelmed with our new Congress.

    • So you think taking away a persons freedom is OK if it's a bi-parisan effort?

    • You missed the point. That comment was directed at the OP who, (as you may have noticed) likes to take time out of his busy day to *occasionally* blame the evils of the world either directly or through association on the current administration.

Now, a question for you...is that all you took away from this "performance" by Paul? Do you believe that it is appropriate, logical, or even ethical to suggest that abortion and the selection of light bulbs are the same because he wraps them More..

    • You completely missed the point of his speech if you think he said abortions are the same as light bulbs. Watch the video again.
