McHale's Navy ran from 1962 to 1966, four seasons 138 episodes. Two spinoff films "McHale's Navy" and "McHale's Navy Joins The Airforce". (Borgnine wasn't in the latter film because he was in production with the film "Flight of the Phoenix") The show was based on a one hour non-comedy called "Seven Against The Sea".

What more could you want in a show? Universal invested in the colorization of the show in the 1980's to drum up popularity in reruns, I prefer the B&W myself. McHale's Navy has a spinoff called Broadside, which was basically the same premise except with an all female cast. Dick Sergant(Richard Stanford Cox) of Bewitched fame was in that too.

There was a remake of the film McHale's Navy in 1997, nothing much to it except that Ernest Borgnine has a cameo in it. Other than that yaaawn.

The first commercial for Viceroy seen here had the lovely Yvonne Craig, four years before she became the mega-hottie Batgirl on Batman. It's almost enough to make you want to start smoking.
