Why is US, France, UK, Germany, and China concerned: For the most part, Iran's continuing failure to comply with international nuclear nonproliferation obligations has created a "crisis in confidence" over its nuclear program intentions. They simply will not comply with the international community. Therefore, Un More..

    • I went there 8 years ago, I would'nt bother about learning farsi, it could cause suspicion, you'll come across many students learning English who will want to tag along with you for a free lesson in exchange of local knowledge, just be careful crossing the roads and eat plenty of chelo kebab.

  • also, what if iran said ok fine, we will stop the centrifuges and will not seek weapons grade nuclear material...the US would have no reason to bomb iran...iran could go back to all of its own issues as well as the US, i just dont see how this will end well without the enrichment being stopped

andy, we have been over this issue a handful of times, there is no way that the US will allow a nation as radical as iran to have nuclear weapons...i know the people of iran are good people as well as your girlfriend but no president regardless who it is would allow iran to obtain nuclear weapons...especially in the middle east. The situation sucks and iraq is a mess, but that dosent change the fact that iran will never be allowed to have a weapon of such magnitude

Then my friend, you will reap what you sow.

How will bombing fix the underlying problems and issues that led us up to the point where nuclear weapons are on the table with regard to a nuclear energy program which may or may not be a precursor to a nuclear weapons program?

It will not. It will create a unified Iranian front and solidify the tenuous position of the ruling elite in Iran. In other words, bombing will make things LESS secure, rather than more so.
