Police say officers first started following the truck after it ran a red light at University Avenue and Rice Street in St. Paul.

They followed the vehicle until it crashed near Montgomery Street around 1 a.m..

Officers say the driver, a diabetic, suffered some kind of medical emergency.

The driver was treated on the scene and will likely not face any charges.
