Regardless, I support cities that take these strong actions. If you have enough $ to dump $20,000 into modding your car, you can afford a few hundred to rent time on a track. If you're just stupid and want to risk other peoples lives on the street, you can afford to have your $30,000 ricer destroyed.

Fascist Ontario? Ontario is a pretty liberal province.
The cops should seize vehicles of people who are street racing. Street racing is a selfish and dangerous activity. Although selling the car at auction and using the proceeds for something useful is probably a smarter plan.

@jum_runky Instead of selling the car, sell it in parts! Chop it and sell it. That way they would pay more for it if they wanted to buy it all back, and they could keep parts used for racing (NoS systems, turbos and superchargers and crap like that)

One is a civil ticket the other a misdemeanor. A seizure for a felony conviction is ok, but for a misdemeanor you will find no end to what and why they seize. I have seen on the show 'cops', cars seized for a dime bag of pot. That is exactly what this amounts too.
I know people get killed from street racing but the same goes for drunk driving. Lets see them start seizing EVERY car that goes along with a misdemeanor drunk driving conviction. You will end up with many, many with the More..

What if the cops had it sold it, the old owner's friend buys it and gives it back to the old owner or some other kid, and that dude then kills someone?
